It is about a year and half since FACO (Federation of Asian Clinical Oncology) was established. Although we are still on the way to establish the ideal structure of FACO, we understand that one of the most important missions of FACO is to promote cooperative studies and improve cancer care in Asia. We are delighted to present the current status and future perspectives of headquarters in this session. We opened FACO Tokyo office in January 2013 which has a meeting room that can accommodate up to 30 people. FACO Tokyo office is at present within the same building of JSCO Tokyo office, however, we are intending to be independent in a few years' time. We also recruited two members of staff who are exclusive for FACO business matters. CSCO (Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology) and KACO (Korean Association of Clinical Oncology) have administrative offices similar to JSCO. As to the data center and tissue bank, we agreed to their standpoints when actual collaborative studies are confirmed. We also set up Academic Committee Members that comprises of several organ specialities from each founding society (CSCO/ KACO/ JSCO). There are currently 25 Academic Committee members, who are expected to play important roles in collaborative studies and researches as well as FACO annual meetings. Finally, we are delighted to introduce two study networks as exemplifications of emerging interests in FACO, namely Asian Pediatric Hematology Group and Asian Gynecologic Oncology groups which are interested in the FACO initiatives, and also proud to announce that FACO as an international academic group could develop a common global voice in close collaboration with EORTC and ASCO in the near future.
